IRIDYUM

Nome che richiama l'IRIDIO, uno degli elementi e che fa pensare all'IRIDE dell'occhio. IRIDYUM vuole essere solidità e malleabilità proprie del metallo, ma anche voglia di conoscere, la curiosità e la profondità dell'anima che viene da uno sguardo.

Lo stile suonato dal gruppo ha venature alternative rock/metal e risente delle influenze musicali dei vari componenti che variano dal metal al pop.
Attivi dal 2002, il primo live del gruppo è stato sul palco delle selezioni provinciali di Arezzo Wave 2004.
Con la prima formazione stabile gli Iridyum hanno inciso il loro primo demo promozionale SlamD, contenente i due brani inediti “Speedy Run” e “Wake Up”, che ha ricevuto ottime critiche su vari webzine nazionali. In particolare “Wake up” è stata inserita in tre compilation nazionali.
Il gruppo è stato inoltre invitato tra il 2005 e il 2006 presso gli studi di varie radio locali e nazionali dove sono stati trasmessi alcuni dei brani che fanno parte dell’ep che, registrato agli inizi del 2005, è stato ottimamente recensito anche su varie webzine e che prende il nome di NO COVER UP.
Ha concorso alle finali provinciali di PRIMOMAGGIO TUTTO L’ANNO, sia nel 2006 che nel 2009. Sempre nell’aprile del 2006 ha aperto il palco, insieme ad altri gruppi, ai Meganoidi.
Nello stesso anno ha aperto il palco a Solieri, Portera, Schiavone e altri famosi chitarristi della “Notte delle chitarre” nella manifestazione “Rock contro la mafia”. Recentemente, e dopo, in occasione di “Città per la vita” (manifestazione contro la pena di morte), ha aperto il concerto ai Tinturia a Catania.
Ha partecipato alle selezioni di “Arezzo Wave 2007” e calcato lo stesso palco dei Vallanzaska.
Ha vinto “A caccia di stelle”, concorso indetto da RDS e Mercedes-Benz.
Proclamata band della settimana nell'ambito del concorso "Cornetto Free Music 2007" e lo stesso titolo gli è stato affidato sia da parte di Kataweb.it nel 2008 che da parte di GrooveBox nel 2010.
E' stata poi selezionata per la prima serata del Jack Daniel's Live Tour 2008, in apertura a Giuliano Palma & The Bluebeaters a Palermo, suonando poi al Rolling Stone di Milano per la finale del JD in apertura ai Sud Sound Sistem.
La band ha vinto, a livello locale, la terza edizione del Monreale Rock Festival, nel 2008.
Nel giugno 2009 ha ultimato le registrazioni del nuovo disco WHAT I FEEL INSIDE, che ha riscosso buone critiche sia su webzine che riviste nazionali (GrindZone, MetalManiac..etc..) e internazionali (War metal webzine, Femme Metal webzine). Di uno dei brani del disco è stato girato anche il video (So Alone), attualmente disponibile su youtube e in rotazione su varie tv web e tv locali, mentre la versione live del brano, registrata a Sala Prove è in rotazione su Rock Tv.

The style of the band tends to alternative rock and metal, following the musical influences of the various components of the band ranging from metal to pop.
Active since 2002, the first live event was the local selection for Arezzo Wave 2004.
With a stable lineup, Iridyum recorded their first promotional demo, SlamD, containing two unpublished songs “Speedy Run” and “Wake Up”. This demo received excellent reviews in many Italian webzines. “Wake up” was placed in three national compilations.
The band was invited in 2005 and in 2006 in several local and national radio, where some of the tracks of the EP album, NO COVER UP, recorded at the beginning of 2005 and  excellently reviewed from national and international webzines.
We attended the local finals of the event named "PRIMOMAGGIO TUTTO L’ANNO" both in 2006 and in 2009. Still on April 2006 Iridyum and other bands opened the Meganoidi concert.
Furthermore the same year we opened the concert of Solieri, Portera, Schiamone and other famous guitarists during the “Notte delle chitarre” (Night of the guitars) for the show named “Rock contro la mafia” (Rock against the mafia).  After that, in “Città per la vita” (“City for the life”) (manifestation against  capital punishment) we have opened the concert to the Tinturia in Catania. We have also partecipated in selections for “Arezzo Wave 2007”.
We have won “A caccia di stelle” (“Star hunting”), competition promoted by RDS (Radio Dimensione Suono, an italian national radio) and Mercedes-Benz.
We were title 'band of the week' during the “Cornetto Free Music 2007” competition, and the same qualification was given by Kataweb.it in 2008 and GrooveBox in 2010.
We ere selected to take part to the first live show of the “Jack Daniel’s Live Tour 2008”, playing as opening act to the Giuliano Palma & The Bluebeaters show in Palermo, and we played in Milan at the final of the Jack Daniel's live tour 2008 opening the Sud Sound System show.
We won, at a local level, the third edition of the 'Monreale Rock Festival' in 2008.
On June 2009, we have just finished recordings of our full lenght album WHAT I FEEL INSIDE, receiving good reviews on both national (GrindZone, MetalManiac..etc..) e international (War metal webzine, Femme Metal webzine). One of its tracks (So Alone) has been used to produce a video, available on youtube and in rotation on several web and local TVs, while the live version of the same track, recorder at Sala Prove, is in rotation on Rock TV (an Italian satellite TV channel).
