Pure climatic and melancholic metal is what this italian band plays. The first thing that got my attention was the amazing voice that Laura Piras has, full of power and at the same time of a sad feeling that she delivers on each of the six songs here. The band is really solid and they combine climatic moments with heavier ones where the clean guitars or the melodies turn into heavier riffs. The bands that come to my mind here are The Gathering, Evanescence and also some Theatre of Tragedy. There are good guitar solos that add a different feeling to the music. Tracks like "My War" are really hart wrenching with the wonderful vocal harmonies that this amazing woman delivers. This is a great combination of shaking your head and weeping while listening this music, and I think that this fusion of feelings is a trademark of Iridyum´s music. The recording sound is direct and loud and the mix is really good, specially in the crystalline vocals. A great band that surprised me with killer compositions.
